Hey everyone! I recently entered a poster contest on Talenthouse for a Florence and the Machine 2015 Tour Poster. The winner is picked tomorrow so you can check it out if you would like. I love sites like Talenthouse because you get basic guidelines and the creativity is limitless. They also have a lot of music contest on there which I enjoy very much!
Recently for my birthday I got a new point and shoot camera. My old one just wasn’t working for my photographer eye so I decided it was time to get a new one.Now all though I’m not a professional with all the fancy equipment, I know enough about cameras and photography to know that I wanted a point and shoot that had easy manual settings where I could change the ISO, F-Stop, Shutter speed and the brightness like you would on an SLR. A point and shoot is never going to live up to an SLR but it can come pretty close.
What I like most about the Nikon Coolpix S9900 is that is has a 30x zoom and I can quickly change the F-Stop and Shutter speed on the interface screen like on my DSLR.
However, there are some cons that can be good or bad depending on how much patience you have. My biggest issue is when I zoom in really far I have to really stand still to take a shot or else the image captured ends up missing the subject completely. The other issue I have is that also every photo I have taken ended up with a lot of noise no matter where I had the ISO at. This, however, was only noticed in the editing process.
So far I have only used it at a Maroon 5 concert but overall I like this camera a lot better than my old compact and I will continue to use it for concerts that I attend. Eventually, I hope to be able to get a press pass or bring my Cannon SLR with me but until then I will be in the crowd taking pictures as best as I can.
A few months ago I was a freelance photographer for the Sylvan Chorale. They are a local orchestra and they do a show every year. It was a long 2 days of shooting and a few days of editing but it was worth it in the end.

“Consider Kristina Cummings of Hummelstown, who stopped by my office, coincidentally just as I was putting what I thought were the finishing touches on this post. She just graduated with a graphic design degree from the Art Institute of York.
She came prepared, having visited the Goulet Communications website beforehand. She also gave me her business card and resume, which she designed.
Lately I have been on the journey of the dreaded “College Grad Job Search”. As you know searching for a job is a job with in itself.
A while back I was reading my towns paper “The Sun” and I saw a public relations company called Goulet Communications, has moved into town. So naturally I thought maybe there would be a graphic design position there for me.
I walked in with my resume and was very prepared but unfortunately the small business owner, Neal Goulet, doesn’t really hire graphic designers and he works with freelance designers.
After talking to him for a few minutes he wanted to help me out and decided to feature me in his one article. (click picture above or this link here) His daughter is also studying art and graphic design so he understands the struggle for art college grads to find work.
I am very honored that he decided to feature me on his site and said such pleasant things about me.
